Apparently, there is a way to break out your comfort zone. And stop being afraid of the unknown, of change…There are various techniques out there that can help you with that.
One is called affirmations. They are “a statement that describes a goal in its already completed state” and they will “bombard your subconscious mind with new thoughts and images”. Meaning, your status quo will have no option but to give up.
There are 9 guidelines on creating positive affirmations:
- start with the word I AM
- use the present tense
- state it in the positive
- keep it brief
- make it specific
- include an action word ending with -ing
- include at least one dynamic emotion or feeling word
- make affirmations for yourself, not others
- add “or something better” at the end
Another option, for the creative ones, is visualization: it accelerates achievement through imagination ( “the preview of life’s coming attractions” as per Albert Einstein ). There are many reasons why this method works:
- activates the powers of your subconscious mind
- it focuses on your brain, where you can control thoughts
- magnetizes and attracts to you the people , resources and opportunities you need to achieve your goal
The truth is, “your brain sees no difference between visualizing and doing”. But visualizing, actually ” makes the brain achieve more”. “When you visualize your goals as already complete each and every day, it creates a conflict in your mind between what you are visualizing and what you currently have. Your mind tries to resolve that conflict by turning reality into the new, more exciting vision”. All you have to do is close your eyes and see your goals as already complete.
Another method would be to act as you are already where you want to be. “You choose what it is you want to be, do or have, and all you have to do is start acting as if you already are being, doing or having it”. “And as soon as you start acting AS IF, you will start drawing to you the very people and things that will help you achieve it in real life”
“Start now and be who you want to BE, then DO the actions that go along with being that person, and soon you will find that you easily HAVE everything you want in life”.
To summarize, you can basically spell it, think it or act it: this will help build your confidence and trust in yourself. Assist you in achieving the life you want. Transform dreams into reality. Help you move and grow, instead of staying still and stagnant.
Help you break the mold of comfort zone.
Help you to act.
